  • New Job = Next Level

    Hello Everybody:

The topic I'm going to share with you guys is that I found a new job in Hong Kong. As of today, I'll be working in San Po Kong, which is in the Wong Tai Sin district at the company called "Nice Property Limited". The job position I'll be working in is an office clerk. This involves in bookeeping, data entry, delivery, and working in people's estate homes. The probation period is three months and my salary is $5,500 per month except with lesser hours, which is a good thing. In addition, I get day offs on Sundays and public holidays, and I worked 5 and a half days per week (Monday to Friday: 9am to 6pm, Saturdays: 9am to 1pm). I really liked this job because not only that I can train myself in an office environment, the group plan is a lot better than my previous job. Anyways, I'll post pictures for my new office place to you guys later on. Have a good evening.

  • so fed up of my job

    phew, what an exhausting week.

One of the sad news which occured in my work place was two of my co-workers suddenly plan to resign their position as a shop assistant. I spoke with them earlier and they told me that one day when they got a flu, fever, or any other sickness, they were being forced to be on duty. According to our company's regulations, there can only be one sick day per month, which is paid on our monthly salaries. If we plan to recover at home, part of our salaries may be deducted regardless how many doctor's notes we have.

Since there weren't enough workers to be on duty, the manager plan to work at the counter on Monday. The worst part was that I have to served and cook all the food and the manager didn't allow me to help one of the new co-workers who was on duty, to learn how to work at the kitchen. Originally, I get off work at 8pm. Since I have to count all the goods before I leave, I had to work until 9:30pm, which is completely unfair. This is because the new co-workers gets off at 10pm and during that time, he/she can even take my spot and do all the cooking. In this case, suppose if he/she didn't know how to check all the goods, I can do this task around 7pm, prior to the end shift. The manager didn't cut all the bills and I was being forced to cook during that time.

In addition, there were so many lack of communications or co-operations with any other co-workers, due to shortage of goods. Some of them dared to serve on the internet for more than 15 minutes, and this make them more unfocused what's happening in the internet cafe.

The manager told me that the boss is planning to change our shift from 10 hours to 12 hours per day, but only one day of rest in March. Although, it haven't officially been approved yet, many new workers are being forced to work this long. In the beginning, three of them resigned their position after working for about a week.

My last word regarding about the prejudicism of i-one is 'slavery'.

Here are the reasons why I think working in i-one is like slaves:

    1) long-working hours
    2) lesser wages
    3) unfairness
    4) lack of teamwork
    5) lack of benefits in the group plan

according to the working hours in the labour department, most workers cannot work for more than 48 hours per week, or simply 8 to 9 hours per day, unless if he or she has approved that he or she can do so. Since i-one required workers to work 10 hours per day and only one day of rest, it had already breached the rules from the labour department. I just think that the owner in i-one is kind of cold-blooded. Working 12 hours per day with only one day of rest is just too CHAOTIC and most of our free time has been sacrificed.

After this incident, I will resign my position as a shop assistant at the end of this month. To tell you the truth, I'm sick of it, due to unstable regulations in this workplace.

I'll either do training in chinese writing and/or typing in chinese or I will look for a new job in the labour department. Remember to pray for me if you do have time.

    Cheers.

  • getting employed

just before saying about my new job, I hope that everyone did have a fabulous happy chinese new year and valentine's day.

In the beginning of this year, I went to the labour department as usual to look for a new job, and the manager from i-one scheduled me for an interview on the same day. After the interview, the manager decided to hire me to work as a shop assistant in one of their internet cafe at Wan Chai (East side of central in Hong Kong). Right now, I have been working for almost two months in i-one, as well as making new friends with co-workers.

The good things are simply that I get to cook food/serve drinks to customers, besides assisting them with computer difficulties. In addition, I get to do cash counting at the end of the month. The manager need the reports from all the i-one stores in Causeway Bay and Wan Chai (Grand total of 4 stores) to determine the monthly profits/expenditures, so that he can report it to the executives.

The bad thing is simply lack of co-operation with the co-workers. Everytime when I arrived at work, I saw messy floors and garbages on the table. Mostly, I was obligated to do the cleaning for my upper co-workers/manager.

After working for about two months, I consider myself to be very lucky, because the economy is still in the great depression and thousands of workers have lost their jobs, regardless how much seniority they have.

Lastly, I want to pray to our heavenly father that he can be Barack Obama's greatest guidance. I strongly believe that Obama will need god's help in order to twist this depression into a healthier economic diversity. This black president will definitely have an idea of creating new jobs for us so that the unemployment rate won't reach double digits.

That's it for now, and I will come back for you.

    Take care.

  • sorting out the documents

    Hello my dear fans:

By the time you read this message, I'm already in Hong Kong right now. The reason why I went back to Canada is to simply trying to transfer my documents from there to Hong Kong. For example, driver's license, bank account and doctor's referral letter.

As for the driver's license, the expiry date is next year, May 31st. Since I'm not planning to live in Canada anymore, there's no point for renewal. In other words, it might be better for me to transfer it to a Hong Kong license just incase I need to drive over there.

As for the bank account, I transferred my money into my parent's account so that they wouldn't have to pay an administration fee since they have an HSBC account in Hong Kong. I don't really want to go back to Canada every year to file a tax bill.

Since I won't be doing any medications in Canada, I might as well get a reference letter from my doctors so that the doctors in Hong Kong can follow up easier to keep track of my health conditions.

One last word, my parents and myself have already booked for a cruise about three months ago. The price is a lot cheaper to go to south america from Canada than from Hong Kong.

That's all I'm going to say and bye from now.

  • Life at Hong Kong

Wow! To tell you the truth, I haven't been back to Hong Kong for over 7 years and I noticed that there are many new condos or even new hotels built around my area. It's kind of like that I'm going into a new city that I have never been before in my life. Right now, I'm pretty much getting used to it and I might be living in Hong Kong permanently at this moment (unless if I'm married). I don't have a home in Canada anymore and the cost of living is extremely too high to afford a simple life over there.

The things that I want to do in Hong Kong are:

    1) Finding a home church

    2) Sorting out documents from overseas

    3) Getting Employed

    4) Form a bond of friendship with new males/females

    5) Able to have a relationship with a girl

I will be discussing about each of these five objectives later on ad bye from now.

  • avoiding chaos in the banquet

I haven't been writing a blog for a long time and I would not have to expect that I wasn't too uspet as I thought of for not being able to attend Jon Tam & Anna Leung's banquet.

Here are the main reasons why I couldn't go to their banquet:

    1) The relationship between the Tam couples and myself are consider as acquaintances
    2) I didn't know their families and friends very well

At first, I thought of myself that I should not even bother to go to their wedding because it's kind of like, I can't play in the 2nd half for an NBA basketball game, which is the crucial moment. However, I still go to their wedding and take pictures together happily. Thank goodness, I was feeling sick during that day, so that I don't have to come to their banquet in a bad mood. Afterwards, when I tried to look for photos in their banquet online, I felt a bit sorry for one of the guests, (probably one of Jon Tam's high school colleagues) because he didn't receive an invitation card from them as well.

Put it this way, if I go to their banquet without an invitation card and having a flu, their dinner will eventually become very chaotic, as people from my table would get sick as well. Afterwards, everyone is going to be scared of me and want to stay away from me.

After their banquet, I wonder whether or not I should invite Jon & Anna to my future wedding & banquet which is at least 2 years from now. I'm not saying that I should not form my bond with them deeper, it's just that whether or not they want to be closer with me as friends. Maybe, I might just invite them to my wedding instead, but not sure about the banquet.

Here is the list of people that I might invite for my future banquet (when I turned myself into regional vice president):

    Families & Relatives
    Workers from Primerica:
RVP: Billy Wong & Jodi Chang
Regional Leader: Elaine Chan & hey boyfriend (maybe)
     Members from Elaine's Team:
      - Ricky Chu
      - Yang He & Chen Zou
      - Irene Wu
      - Chris & Dolores (maybe)
      - etc
some church people: (from NCAC & NTCAC)
some school people: (from University & High School)
pastors: Allan Marriage & Glen Eyre (including their wives and childrens)
Groomsmen: Tim Chak, Eric Fan, Ben Tang, Hammond Lo, etc.

That's it for today, and I hope that I can attend Camilla Cheung's banquet as well as the wedding. To be honest, if I can't come to her banquet, I would be crying for sure because even though I don't know her finance very well, I have known her friends, as well as herself,  well, probably not as deep as Alfred, Belinda, Steph, Jon Tam, etc.

  • Passing the pre-licensing exam

It's Sunday May the 25th and I just wrote the pre-licensing exam for the 5th time of the year.

To be honest, this is my 3rd time of writing the exam in the Chestwood location and the exam that I got was version C. I got 48% for the 1st one and 50% for my 3rd one. Although the exam wasn't extremely difficult, it was not a easy exam at all. The 2nd time that I wrote this exam was in the dufferin location and I got 55% for that one. The 4th time that I wrote was in consumers road and got 52%. I never would have imagine that I would pass this time.

Before writing the pre-licensing exam for the 5th time, my trainer, Elaine Chan, suggested that I should study the Oliver's version of the LLQP exam. After a long discussion, I have spend at least two weeks prior to the exam studying the Oliver's textbook for the LLQP. Even though, the concept and the question is very challenging, I still contribute my time, studying as much as possible. I remembered, one time when I tried to read the entire textbook, it took approximately 6 hours to finish reading the whole syllabus. Hence, I was all prepared to write the pre-licensing exam.

During the exam, I marked some of the question that I don't know the answer completely such as ( A or B, C or D, etc.), and seeking for easy questions that I can answer. Of course, I can't remember every single questions from the exam and the most that I can remember is about 20 to 30 questions. I was taking my time cautiously and answering the questions exclusively, even though there are a few of hard question that I can't understand completely. After the exam was over, I pretend to be a nerb saying that "Sorry, I had tried my best!" making the proctot thinking that I didn't pass the exam. On the contrary, I got a certificate and a passing mark of 61% (86/140). I was extremely excited and told Elaine and her boss, Billy Wong, that I passed the pre-licensing exam.

As you can see, if you really put more effort into the work, there is NOTHING that you can not triumph. I don't know why some people who wants a better career doesn't like to work for Primerica.

Hopefully, in the near future, I will share my personal experience to my newly associates about how to be successful at Primerica, so that they won't feel less confident when they're struggling.

About Me

  • I just recently had a better part time work at a financial firm called, Primerica. Currently, I'm trying to gain relevant clientele experience from meeting clients face to face in order to be a better salesperson. Besides that, I'm also seeking for new recruits to be part of my team in the business. In addition, I'm living on my own right now and I'm trying to get a dating relationship experience with a girl. If anyone that has a better female friend for me, please let me know as soon as possible.
